phone friday, 11/6

By eatingthrough

Spent alot of my time on the phone today.  Was interviewed for Peggie Arvidson’s Blog Talk Radio Show, got some coaching for the story I’m going tCIMG1159o tell next week at Speakeasy’s Open Mic, hosted a Kick Off Teleconference for the Howe To Eat Fall Cleanse ‘09… oh, and talked to my friend Susan a couple times.  Yup, it was a good day to have home, office and car cell phone chargers.

Breakfast:  lemon water; oats, water, ginger, arugula, blueberries, almonds; traditional medicinals chai.  Overdo-ing the ginger combined with the peppery arugula made this a real “wake up and take notice” breakfast.

CIMG1160Lunch:  emergen-C; quinoa with a drizzle of butternut squash soup; kale with garlic; lentil dal “burger” with ketchup; TAZO lemon mint green tea.  All my favorites foraged from the Whole Foods buffet, enjoyed with my friend Rachel.  I know intellectually that green tea has caffeine, and I know intellectually that TAZO tea has sugar, but somehow I was surprised that this tasty, refreshing beverage got me all cranked up.

CIMG1161Snack:  raw cashews, raw pepitas, unsweetened cranberries; green tea.  SOMEONE forgot to put the chocolate chips in my snack cup.  I’d be less angry and schizophrenic about it if I weren’t all jacked up on caffeine, having chosen to make myself a follow up cup of lemon mint green.

CIMG1162Dinner:  broccoli; carrots; lamb pot pie.  Ever walk into Whole Foods and think:  “Lamb, I want lamb”?  I did, and found this cute little heat and eat pie made by the fine folks at KiwiKuisine.   It was very flavorful, with big chunks of lamb, peas, carrots, and a hint of mint in there.  A little steep at $6, and a little too much white flour crust, but I had half tonight and will have half for lunch and that makes it all work out fine.  Yes, this was my second trip to Whole Foods today.  When I wasn’t on the phone, I was at Whole Foods.
